Signal wires must always be fitted with cord ends

Follow the actual model's manual for Pulse / COM wiring; this picture does not define it.

30 devices or 30 m
Twisted pair + shield
18 AWG

Whichever comes first. This is a requirement of this system; the real usable distance depends on the equipment and site conditions.

Run the cable as a continuous daisy chain, separate from power cables. Follow the equipment manual for shielding and termination.

Check that the lug fits the hole and tighten to the manufacturer's torque. Never force a cable into the terminal.

Breakers for market stalls

Install the stall's 2-pole CB after the meter: Lout and Nout go into the CB per this system's requirement

1-phase single-line diagram: CB after the meter's Lout The brown L wire from the supply enters Lin, leaves Lout to the breaker, then to the load. The blue N wire enters Nin, leaves Nout through the second pole of the ABB S202 to the load. Both L and N pass through the 2-pole breaker (shown with S202.svg). The meter stays powered. 04

Choose the right mounting location for our meter

IP54

Dust-protected to a level that does not affect operation
and protected against water splashing from any direction

Install in a dry, sheltered location

Use a suitable roof or enclosure; avoid direct sun and areas near water. IP54 does not cover immersion or high-pressure water jets.

01 / Keep away from water

Not near taps, washing areas, standing water or flood zones. Never hose it down directly.

02 / Avoid sun and heat

Provide shade and ventilation, keep away from heat sources, and check the temperature range in the manual.

03 / Seal cable entries

Fit all covers and use suitable seals or cable glands. Leave no openings for water or dust.

04 / Mount securely

Mount on a solid surface, away from impact and vibration, with room for inspection and repair.

05 / Separate signal cables

Keep RS485 away from power cables and noise sources, and route cables so they don't pull on the terminals.

06 / Check connections

Check lugs, tightness and covers before energising. Look for signs of overheating at each maintenance round.
